quickly discovered his love for any kind of complex, harmonic, melodic music by rushing home from piano lessons and trying out new skills on his synthesizer.
After all, this was the 80's and this was the electronic era!
And when the 90's rolled in, Dan was right there as the dance music invasion happened and he even remembers some of it!
Firstly, becoming an avid listener of the early dance tunes (KLF, 2 Unlimited, Guru Josh etc), then later by buying a set of Technics 1210 and starting to buy Hard Trance records (on labels like Eye Q records, Bonzai etc) and do occasional DJ'ing in his hometown of Hamburg, Germany.
With the riffs, hooks and positive energy music, Dan soon fell in love with the UK Happy Hardcore / happy Breakbeat releases of the early 90's (including most of the stuff released on Kniteforce Records). And man - those breakbeats really kicked ass for Dan and the influence continued with upcoming artists like The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Moby.
Listening to this creative, massive but yet harmonic music really shaped his musical taste.
But in the mid 90's Dan got lost in a world of corporate BS.
Thinking that money would be the way to happiness, the idiot went off in pursuit of a career in I.T. in an effort to make some decent money and to use his programming skills to change the world.
Having spent over 15 years as an employee and over 5 years as a freelance IT consultant on this quest for wealth and satisfaction before realising it was as boring as this paragraph, Dan set out on a quest to find the way back.
So he went back to his roots and took a musical refresher course at Pointblank London and started translating all those ideas, rhythms and melodies that were constantly spinning in his head into real, computer-programmed dance music.
He also re-started his DJ works by creating weekly mix tapes, consisting of melodic, positive music from the areas of House, Progressive and Trance.
In parallel to his dance music ambitions, Dan also founded the "Electronic Cat Foundation" project and produces Downtempo/Chillout/Electronica music under this pseudonym, allowing him to experiment with instruments and create complex, groovy music that focuses on creating strong emotions for the listener.
MasterSeka. Packed with many years of musical experience and a strong focus on creative and positive dance music.
Proficient in DJ'ing, from spinning vinyl in the 90's to creating electronic music today, Dan's mission is to bring emotive vibes to the people. He wants to make you FEEL the music, to enjoy the creativity and nerdiness of all those great music Producers out there and to to bring back the enjoyment of the two huge main elements of Electronic dance music (no, not "EDM") - beats and melodies.
